I am passionate about breaking down cultural barriers in my field and welcome individuals from all walks of life who are wishing to seek quality counselling. As your counsellor my role is to support you in a safe, confidential and comforting environment that places importance on respect and understanding; a space where you can share your issues and expect a high standard of professional support on your journey to wellness. In our sessions, we can explore what wellness means to you and work toward meaningful change and help identify any thoughts, feelings and behaviours that impact your quality of life.

About

My name is Tanima Rahman, I am a qualified counsellor and a provisional member, registered with the New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC). I am a positive, compassionate and reliable person with several years of experience working with women who have faced domestic violence and abusive relationships.

I am from Bangladesh and have lived in Auckland, Aotearoa New Zealand where I have been based since 1998. I enjoy travelling, spending time with nature and feel blessed to have a wonderful family and a wide network of good friends here at home and globally.

I love working alongside people who have diverse needs and have always been a keen listener and believe that counselling is very much about listening, being sensitive to the needs of my clients and treating others with kindness and integrity. I practice in a trauma informed way where safety and security are priority. I have many interventions and approaches where my purpose is to respect and empower clients, walk alongside them in their journey that best suits the individual and their situation. 

I pride myself on my ability to support clients with a non-judgmental and culturally sensitive approach. I have excellent communication and listening skills with a genuine patience and a kind and compassionate heart. I naturally build strong rapport with my clients, using a range of person-centered approaches. I find building a therapeutic relationship such a privilege, and I feel blessed to be working alongside clients as they navigate through their trauma, their stories, and experiences – wherever they may be at this time in their lives.

Services

I am able to provide counselling services online to clients in English, Bengali, Hindi and Urdu. I am competent in both Māori and Pasifika ways of knowing and I pride myself in my ability to support clients with a culturally sensitive approach that acknowledges the many rich and varied cultures that make up our people here in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Building therapeutic relationships is such a privilege, and I feel blessed to be working alongside clients as they navigate through their trauma and experiences in a person-centred non-authoritative environment; this allows clients to take more of a lead in discussions. My purpose is to walk alongside clients in their journey through the process of healing.  In our sessions, I can build a confidential space for clients to connect with their inner self while utilising an evidence-based approach to guide the therapeutic process without interrupting the exercise of self-discovery

Pranic Healing

I also offer Pranic Healing as a certified Healer of Pranic Apps (1,2,3,4 NZ Pranic Healing Foundation inc) I offer a holistic approach to healing and am passionate about how our body, mind and spirit are interconnected. I work from my heart with pure intentions to serve in all areas of life (mind, body and spirit) through healing and counselling. My own journey and life experience enables me to understand that when I pay attention to my inner world, I can then influence my outer world.

What is Pranic Healing ?

Pranic Healing is a simple but powerful and effective system of energy healing developed by Grand master Choa Kok Sui. Pranic Healing is not contradictory to mainstream medicinal treatments and doesn’t interfere with any other therapies. It is a widely known complementary alternative treatment based on non-touch energy balancing protocols.

Most of our physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual imbalances remain in the energy field. Pranic Healing is a well-established and tested system of energy treatment which employs “prana” (the Sanskrit word for life force) to rebalance, harmonise, transform and strengthen the body’s energy fields. It is applied on the bio-electromagnetic field known as Aura or energy body which is a mould that encompasses and diffuses the physical body. This energy body absorbs the life energy and delivers it throughout the physical body, to the muscles, organs, glands etc. and keeps the body alive and maintains good health. 

Through Pranic healing one can prevent headaches, migraine, stomach pain, gas pain, etc. Pranic healing can help to prevent anxiety, depression, stress, and also physical, emotional and psychological imbalances in life. My aim is to support you overcome these issues or other areas in your life which are blocking you from moving forward.

Healing is also provided remotely and internationally. Remote healing is not an issue as energy flows where attention goes; you can be in your comfort zone and at a convenient time at your home or office while healing is done. It is a very effective form of healing.

FEES: 

  • Free first 15-minute consultation  
  • $110 for a 1-hour session of counseling.
  • $110 for 1-hour first Pranic Healing session (Assessment + Healing)
  • $55 for 30-minute follow-up sessions for Pranic Healing

CANCELLATION POLICY:

I understand that things come up so you can cancel or reschedule an appointment at any time when you provide 24 hours’ notice. If you cancel an appointment with less than 24 hours’ notice or fail to show up, you will be charged a $30 fee for the appointment. Cancellation fees may be waived in cases of sudden illness or emergency.
